Custom Silicone Rubber Molding Services
As a highly respected silicone rubber molding manufacturer with a proven track record, Fuming Silicone Rubber Molding has long served as a trusted supplier of premium custom-molded products. We are fully equipped to work with a broad spectrum of silicone rubber materials, including elastomers, silicone, neoprene, NBR, and EPDM. Adhering to precise tolerances of ±0.005 inch, we specialize in the three most common rubber molding processes: compression molding, injection molding, and transfer molding.
Renowned for its exceptional durability and elasticity, silicone rubber performs exceptionally well in applications requiring reliable operation under high-pressure conditions or extreme deformation. With our capability to manufacture high-performance products from this resilient material, we have consistently met the needs of diverse industries, including aerospace, electronics, and medical sectors.
At Fuming, we are committed to delivering superior products that meet the industry’s highest standards. We invite you to contact us to learn more about our additional service offerings, such as rubber-to-metal bonding, anodizing, and rapid prototyping. Whether for aircraft components, mechanical parts, custom seals, or insulators, we provide outstanding custom silicone rubber molding products and services.
Types of Silicone Rubber Molding
We offer two distinct types of custom silicone molding: LIM (Liquid Silicone Injection Molding) and compression molding. These methods differ in the technology, process, and machinery used to form the parts. While both are excellent options, your part geometry and complexity will typically determine the most suitable process. Below is additional information on each method:
LIM Silicone molding:
Liquid silicone injection molding, also known as LSR molding, involves a two-part, high-viscosity liquid (Part A and Part B) that is loaded into the molding machine. The machine mixes the two components immediately before injecting them into the heated mold cavity, where a chemical reaction causes rapid curing. Once cured, the part is either ejected automatically or manually removed from the mold.
Compression molding:
Compression molding begins by placing a pre-measured silicone rubber sheet directly into an open, heated mold cavity. As the mold closes, the rubber sheet is compressed and flows to fill the cavity under heat and pressure. After curing, the part is allowed to cool and is then removed from the mold. This process offers distinct advantages, including lower tooling and manufacturing costs, making it an ideal choice for parts with low to medium complexity, such as O-rings and sealing gaskets.
